Ramadan is one of the most significant dates for millions of Muslims around the globe who observe it. It is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is intended to be a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.
During the Holy Month, working hours are cut short and specific restaurants are closed during the daytime. In addition, school hours similarly have shorter opening hours.
When Is Ramadan 2024?
According to Time Out Dubai, leading astronomers speculate that Monday, March 11th, will mark the first day of the Holy Month. The Chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society, Ibrahim Al Jarwan has confirmed that Ramadan will commence during the winter season. This will be the first time in 24 years that Ramadan will fall during the winter time.
If this date is accurate, Eid Al Fitr is said to fall on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024. This means we can expect a week off from Monday, April 8th to Friday, April 12th.
